BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, AND STILL DOING MORE
Aprize Satellite's senior management team is made up of executives with superior credentials and vast experience in the development and implementation of advanced satellite technology. These industry leaders, working together, assure you of complete state-of-the-art performance in all areas of our service.
Dr. Dino A. Lorenzini - Chairman and CEO
Americans have been involved in space for over 40 years now … and Dr. Lorenzini has been there for all of them, developing and managing complex space systems.
During his career as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, Col. Lorenzini held senior management responsibilities for several major space development projects, including the Apollo Lunar Module, the Peacekeeper Missile Guidance and Control System, the NAVSTAR Global Positioning System, the High Energy Space Based Laser and the Strategic Defense Initiative System. As Director of the Pilot Architecture Study, Dr. Lorenzini led the technical efforts of over 75 leading scientists and engineers in the conceptual design and analysis of a National Ballistic Missile Defense System.
Dr. Lorenzini was also Founder and President of EYETEL International, the very first low-Earth orbit satellite system for worldwide asset tracking and environmental monitoring, where he guided the project's concept formulation, licensing, funding, development and operation.
Dr. Lorenzini also conceived the initial technical design for the Ellipso mobile satellite voice system.
He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Astronautical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also earned an MBA in Business Administration and Executive Management from Auburn University in Alabama.

Mark Kanawati - Director
Mr. Kanawati is currently the Vice President of Engineering for SpaceQuest, Ltd., the technology provider for Aprize Satellite. With over a dozen years experience in VHF/UHF radio communications, Mr. Kanawati has been extensively involved with the development, operation and use of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites. He has been responsible for the design, assembly, integration and testing of several small satellite communications terminals. He also directed the development, installation and operation of a Microsat Command Station for controlling one of the world's first commercial LEO satellites. And he was the Principal Investigator for the development and delivery of portable ground terminals to the National Science Foundation for use in Antarctica to provide communications support to fixed sites and remote field parties.
Mr. Kanawati has detailed knowledge, understanding and hands-on experience with nanosatellite design and construction; parts and materials selection, procurement and screening; spacecraft systems assembly and integration; launch vehicle integration and spacecraft preparation; and post-launch on-orbit and telemetry analysis.
Mr. Kanawati was the chief engineer for the development, launch and operation of the first Eyetel International satellite, Eyesat-1 in 1993.

Jeffrey J. Guzy - Advisor
In addition to advising the Aprize Satellite principals, Mr. Guzy currently serves as the Executive Vice President of the Broadband Division of Loral Cyberstar.
Prior to joining Loral in 1999, Mr. Guzy was Executive Vice President for FaciliCom International, a large facilities-based carrier to the international telecommunications industry. He was a first-generation FaciliCom player, with the company at its founding in 1994, and then oversaw a series of international acquisitions that grew the company's revenues to over $500 million in four years. FaciliCom was eventually sold to World Access for nearly $750 million (which translated into a very significant ROI for the company's original investors who had infused only $40 million in start-up capital into the venture).
Mr. Guzy has assembled a team of experienced executives who will oversee Aprize Satellite's commercial operations from front-end sales generation to back-end customer care facilities.
Mr. Guzy holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a Master of Science degree from the Moore School, University of Pennsylvania.

Linda Jacobsen - Vice President, Contracts, Administration & Regulatory Affairs
Ms. Jacobsen oversees the company's regulatory and contract processes. She brings extensive telecommunications experience to Aprize, after having been involved with a number of successful carriers. Most recently, Jacobsen was with FaciliCom International (FCI), a Washington, DC-based carrier's carrier, where she headed the Contracts and Regulatory Affairs department. At FCI, Jacobsen oversaw the development and execution of service agreements for foreign subsidiaries, customer and carrier contracts and network facilities contracts. She also developed and directed the regulatory license application process throughout the United States and 17 countries.
Ms. Jacobsen joined FaciliCom in 1995 when the company was a fledgling start up with four employees and left to join Aprize after FCI had grown to more than 350 employees. She was instrumental in the company's successful efforts to be acquired by World Access in October 1999.
Previously, Jacobsen was with GTE Spacenet Corporation, and was also a co-founder and COO of a Washington, DC-based firm engaged in public and government relations and economic development projects.
